What We DoAnnual Meeting. The major activity of the OSG is the development of programs, including sessions at the Annual Meeting, specialized preconference seminars, symposia, and training courses. Specialized pre-sessions have focused on protein chemistry, outdoor sculpture, and gilded metals. Read abstracts of papers presented at past Object Sessions >> Publications. Our publications committee also works with the editors of the Journal of the American Institute for Conservation (JAIC) to produce articles and issues on topics of special interest to objects conservators. In addition, we have published the proceedings of Objects Session of the Annual Meeting in the form of the Objects Specialty Group Postprints since 1993 and plan to continue that effort. Each member of the Objects Specialty Group receives a copy of this publication with their annual membership. For more information on submitting a paper for publication in Postprints, read the Objects Specialty Group Postprints Guidelines >> Outreach. The goal of the Object Specialty Group's Outreach Committee is to promote projects that reach across Disciplines and promote conservation to a wider audience. Read more about our current outreach initiatives >> Archaeological Discussion Group. The Archaeological Discussion Group (ADG) is a working group of the Object Specialty Group made up of professional conservators who work with, or are interested in archaeological conservation i.e. the conservation of excavated objects. Learn more >> Listserv. Another benefit of membership in the Objects Specialty Group is access to OSG-L, which is also open to members of the Wooden Artifacts Group (WAG) and serves the OSG's Archaeological Discussion Group. This closed listserv is used by members to quickly contact numerous colleagues with similar interests and experience. Subscribe to this Listserv >> Listserv archives. All OSG-L messages have been archived, allowing searches on messages carried out since 1996. To access the archives you will need to be a member of the listserv and have the password that was sent to you when you registered or in your monthly reminder e-mail.
