Specialty GroupsObjectsObjects Specialty Group PostprintsGuidelines for AuthorsAlthough the OSG Postprints are not a juried publication, we are trying to make it as professional as possible in both content and appearance. Authors must follow the following guidelines. Format for Submission1. Preparation of the Text and Images: a. The text should be prepared in Microsoft Word without photographs. 2. Style: a. Papers may include more information than the oral presentation or poster. 3. Fonts and Formatting: a. Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt 4. Suppliers: a. Add this section to let readers know where they can purchase materials used. 5. Bibliographic References: a. Bibliographic references MUST follow the format used in JAIC (see JAIC Guidelines for Authors: http://aic.stanford.edu/pubs/styles.html). 6. Author Information: a. This section of the paper appears after the references. 7. Figures and Images: a. Figures and images include photographs, tables and appendices. All figures MUST have captions; use the full word and period to designate the caption; e.g., Figure 2. For images, captions should include the photographer [ie. Photograph by Pat Griffin]. If the photograph depicts an artifact, captions should include the collection and the artifact number. Selection ProcessAlthough the OSG Postprints are not a juried publication, we are trying to make it as professional as possible in both content and appearance. All papers will be read by at least two editors with an emphasis on clarity and style. Editing will include conversion to a standard format, punctuation, grammar, spelling, misused words and lack of clarity. The editors’ decisions are final. However, they will call or e-mail authors to check factual information, request clarification or request changes in wording if revision is substantive. Minor changes will be made by the editors; however, unresolved questions and substantial changes to address problems with clarity or style will be forwarded to the author for correction. Submission ProcedureDeadlines: Papers must be submitted by August 1, 2009 for the 2009 Postprints. Early submission is encouraged. Authors may be granted extensions on a case by case basis and should contact the editors well in advance with their reason. Text: Please email the text including captions, correctly prepared in Microsoft Word according to the OSG Postprints Guidelines to:
Figures: Prepare a cd with all figures including images, tables and appendices AND a hardcopy with labeled thumbnail images. Figures should be in individual electronic files labeled with your last name and the Figure no. , Table no. or Appendix no. [ie. Griffin Fig 1, Griffin Table 1, or Griffin App 1].
