Specialty Group Funding Opportunities 

FAIC administers grants and scholarships for some of AIC's Specialty Groups. Funding is available to individuals participating in professional development activities or projects.

Architecture Specialty Group (ASG) Emerging Conservation Professional Speaker Stipend to Attend AIC Annual Meeting


The Architecture Specialty Group (ASG) offers stipends to fund AIC Annual Meeting attendance in the amount of $1500-2000 to cover travel costs, registration, receptions, accommodations, and meals. This speaker stipend is intended to support early-career professionals who are presenting in an ASG session at the Annual Meeting. Awards will be given at the discretion of the ASG review committee based on available funds. Deadline for receipt of application is December 15.

Electronic Media Group (EMG) Speaker Stipend to Attend AIC Annual Meeting


The Electronic Media Group (EMG) offers speaker stipends to help defray costs for EMG members who are presenting at the AIC Annual Meeting. This stipend is open to all EMG members, but will prioritize students and recent graduates. Applicants who do not have a speaker time slot at the time of stipend application may work with the EMG Programming Committee to discuss options to participate in the conference programming. Awards will be given at the discretion of the EMG Scholarship Committee. Funding has been generously provided by Small Data Industries. Stipends may be used for transportation, lodging, and conference registration, up to a maximum of $2,000, based on the applicant’s needs.  Deadline for receipt of application is December 15.

Objects Specialty Group (OSG) Speaker Stipend to Attend AIC Annual Meeting


OSG offers scholarships of $500 to help defray costs for OSG members to attend the AIC Annual Meeting. The grant prioritizes students, recent graduates and members who are presenting at the Annual Meeting. However, the application is open to all OSG members. Deadline for receipt of applications is December 15.

Photographic Materials Group (PMG) Professional Development Stipend


The PMG Professional Development Stipend was established in order to encourage PMG members to pursue research, publication, or other projects that advance and support the field of photograph conservation. Individual stipends are awarded in amounts up to $1,200. Deadlines for receipt of applications are March 15 and October 15.

Textile Specialty Group (TSG) Scholarship Fund


TSG created this scholarship fund to help defray costs to present at a TSG session at the AIC Annual Meeting, for research that is planned to be presented at the AIC Annual Meeting or published in JAIC, or to support attendance to an FAIC professional development workshop. Deadline for receipt of applications is December 15.

Wooden Artifacts Group (WAG) Scholarship Fund


WAG created this scholarship fund to promote accessibility to the field of wooden artifact conservation and encourage growth within the Wooden Artifact Specialty Group. This fund is available to financially supplement internships and educational experiences in the field of wooden artifact conservation, and targets pre-program interns and emerging conservation professionals. Deadline for receipt of applications is March 1.
